Routing a truck out here means checking the tide chart before the radar. Beach Road and the low end of Fox Hill Road take water on a clear day. After a hard rain, Newmarket and Sunset Creek back up into the Mercury Boulevard corridor, so we stage on the dry side and walk hose in.
The housing stock decides the job. Phoebus and Wythe are pre-1930 frame and brick over crawlspaces with cast iron waste lines, and a backup down there is a different animal than a slab-house supply line.
Crawlspaces, cast iron, and PCS-empty houses
My crawlspace is wet after a storm. Does it have to be dried?
Yes. Standing water under an old Phoebus house wicks into joists and subfloor. We extract, pull saturated insulation, and dry the framing under containment rather than pushing damp air into the living space.
Nobody's living in the house — I'm on orders. Who handles it?
Vacant PCS homes are steady work for us, and January freeze breaks in them are routine. Arrange access through a property manager or neighbor; we document with photos and moisture readings your insurer can work from.
